๐Ÿ”’ TL;DR

1. Who We Are

Pixelboop is operated by Audiolux ("we", "us", "our"). We're a small team that builds music creation tools. We care about privacy because we're users too.

Contact us: hello@pixelboop.com

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Data You Provide

Data When Why
Email address Beta signup Send you TestFlight invite & updates
Name (optional) Beta signup Personalize communications

A forum pass First forum post or vote Rate limiting and moderation. Random token, no account, no email
Age confirmation First forum post Confirm you're 13 or older. We store the yes/no, not your age

2.2 Data We Don't Collect

2.3 Technical Data

Our servers may automatically log:

These logs are retained for 30 days maximum and are not linked to your identity.

3. How We Use Your Data

Purpose Legal Basis
Send beta invites and updates Your consent (signup)
Host Community Jams Your consent (upload)
Prevent abuse Legitimate interest
Respond to support requests Your consent (contact)
Publish forum posts Your consent (posting)
Moderate the forum (reports, removals) Legitimate interest

4. Data Sharing

We don't sell your data. We share data only in these limited cases:

5. Data Storage & Security

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

To exercise these rights, email hello@pixelboop.com.

7. The Community Forum

The forum at pixelboop.com/forum is a public, website-only space for reviews, bug reports, and sharing what you made. It is not part of the iOS app and is never shown inside it.

7.1 No account, no email

You don't sign up. The first time you vote or post, your browser is issued a random "pass" (a token) that is stored only in that browser's local storage. It is scoped to the PixelBoop forum and nothing else, it isn't linked to your name, email, or device, and it can't be used to track you across sites. Clearing your browser data deletes it, and you'd simply get a new one.

7.2 What you post is public

Anything you write on the forum is visible to everyone, immediately and indefinitely. Please don't post personal information: your full name, address, school, phone number, or email. Posts are stored as plain text, and we escape them so no post can run code in another reader's browser.

7.3 Ages 13 and up

You must confirm you're 13 or older before your first post or reply. This is why: free-text posting is the one place where someone could reveal personal details about themselves, so we keep it to teens and adults even though the app itself is fine for any age. Reading the forum has no age gate. If you're under 13 and want to report a bug or ask something, use our support page instead, ideally with a parent.

7.4 Images, video, and links

The forum is text only. You cannot upload images or files, which is deliberate: it removes a whole category of privacy risk (photos carry hidden location data) and abuse risk. YouTube links are turned into a player, but nothing loads from YouTube until you click play, so YouTube doesn't see you unless you choose to watch.

7.5 Reporting and removal

Every post has a Report link, and you don't need to have posted anything to use it. Reports are private: they go to us, never to the person you reported. When we remove something, the post disappears but a "removed by a moderator" marker stays in its place, so removals are visible rather than silent. We can also block an abusive contributor's pass.

To report content, use the Report link on the post, or email hello@pixelboop.com. We aim to respond within 24 hours.

7.6 Removing your own posts

Because there's no account, we can't show you a list of your own posts. Email hello@pixelboop.com with a link to the post and we'll remove it.

7.7 Where forum data lives

Forum posts are stored on our own server infrastructure (Surfaces), separate from the systems that run the app. Posts are kept as long as the forum exists, since the point of a forum is that answers stay findable.

8. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

The Pixelboop app is designed to be safe for users of all ages, including children under 13. It works offline, collects no personal information, and declares "Data Not Collected" in its App Store privacy labels.

If we learn that someone under 13 has posted on the forum, we'll remove the post and revoke that pass.

9. iOS App Privacy

The Pixelboop iOS app:

10. Cookies and Local Storage

The pixelboop.com website uses minimal cookies:

The forum stores your pass in your browser's local storage (see section 7.1). It's functional, not tracking: it exists so we can rate-limit and moderate, it never leaves pixelboop.com, and it tells us nothing about you.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We'll notify users of significant changes through the app or website. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when changes were made.
